Tome Topple Midway Update

Tome Topple is half done! How’s everyone doing so far? I’m here to update all of you on my reading so far. I personally feel like I’ve done a pretty decent job but I also feel like I kind of cheated. You will understand once I get talking about it. I also plan on updating all of you with some things that I would like to do on here. I will be asking some questions and would love for your input. Well, let’s get into the Tome Topple update first!

So, Tome Topple started last Friday. By Sunday, I had finished two tomes. I listened to both Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows on audio. Now, I feel like this was kind of cheating because I listened on 2x and followed along in the book. I know that technically they count but it’s just strange for me to count them. I’ll be giving more thoughts in my wrap up but I will say that I loved both of them.

I’m currently reading through Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I have heard such wonderful things about this book and I am definitely enjoying the story so far. The way it is written is interesting and not as hard to follow along with as I imagined. But that being said, I’m not adoring this book like everyone else is.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been busy with stuff around the house and homework. I haven’t had the chance to actually sit down, focus and read. I had one little spurt where I flew through it. But since then, nothing. I haven’t even updated GoodReads in a few days. I’m hoping that tomorrow I’ll get the chance to sit and read. But that’s probably not going to happen as I’m celebrating Easter with my family then. I have to work on my homework today and my final.

Since I’m done talking about my Tome Topple at this point, I’ll talk about my final. You guys are lucky! My teacher wants it posted as a blog (among other options) so I figured I would share it with you guys! I’m going to be writing about how I think that social media has affected reading and publishing I’m going to be talking about Instagram and YouTube at the very least. So look forward to that in the next couple of weeks.

There is also something else that I would like to try with my reading/blogging. I would like to do revisits to my Book Hauls. I’ve seen this mainly from BooksandLala on YouTube. She will go and watch her book hauls from two years previous and whatever books she hasn’t read or unhauled, she needs to read that month or she will unhaul them.

I’m going to be doing my own twist on it because I don’t want to unhaul any books just yet. I’m going to be going through my hauls previously and I’ll have to read a book or two that I haven’t read from that batch. I’m going to be making the first post for this for next month. It will be going up the last Wednesday of the month. Then my TBR will be going up that Friday and my wrap up the following Monday.

Now, onto a question for you guys. I will be taking more classes coming up shortly so I would like to be planning about a month ahead. And writing the posts at the beginning of the month. I will be planning out with my normal schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) but if I have an spontaneous posts, those will go up on Saturday. Would you guys like to see the schedule for the next month on the Saturday prior to that month starting? Or would you rather it be left as a surprise?

Also, if I want to do this, I’m going to be needing some ideas of what you will be wanting to see from my blog. Give me some post ideas! I’d like to do things other than tags. I have to look and see what other sorts of things I could do but it would be nice to know what you want to see from me. It’s hard for me because I’m still fairly “new” to reading. But that’s okay. Just let me know!

I’m going to end this here, though. I do hope you enjoyed this and continue to follow me! Time to work on homework! Happy reading!
