Oh man guys. It’s already May. Completely random and personal but my wedding anniversary is this month! And so is the release of ACOWAR (A Court of Wings and Ruin)! So now that I’ve mentioned that, let’s get into my TBR for May! (Just warning, I’m doing this on 4/21 so I may or may not have gotten through one of these already.
I was going to start with the obvious one but I decided to go with the order I want to read them in instead. So we’ll start with The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I’m hoping to get through Gemina before the end of April and have enough time to get through The Hate U Give quickly.
This book is based on the Black Lives Matter movement and follows a character who watches her close friend being shot by a police officer. The friend was unarmed. It follows her story through deciding whether to tell the truth about the incident, as the only witness, or if she isn’t going to. She’s living two lives and they are complete opposites, it seems. Everyone praises this book so highly so I have very high hopes for it. I wasn’t going to read it just because I thought it would just be hating of cops the entire time (please refrain from starting arguments in the comments about this, comments of the sort will be deleted). But I’m going to give it a chance!
After that, depending on when I finish it, I’m hoping to get to Orange Volume 2 by Ichigo Takano. I read the first volume in a day so I’m figuring that even if I start it before the next book, I should be able to finish it quickly and without issue.
This manga follows a character who got a letter from her future self warning about the new kid that starts at her school. Something happened and her future self is trying to prevent it from happening “again.” It’s definitely an enjoyable manga and I can’t wait to finish this and get onto the next. Once I finish the manga, I’ll watch the anime. The only reason I’m holding off is because I’m not too sure how far into the manga the anime will go. If anyone knows, let me know! Thanks!
And, you all guessed it, I’m sure. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas!!! I can’t even express how excited I am for this book. I’m excited to delve back into this world and figure out how BA Feyre is being. Now, I probably won’t end up getting to anything else if this is anything like the other two. For some reason, the other two books took me forever to get through even though I couldn’t put them down.
Now, if I have the time, I’m going to be reading books from my book haul revisit. I’ll be mentioning those in a different post and if I remember, I’ll put a link to it here. That won’t be going up until May 5th, though.
I need to plan out posts for the rest of the month. Let me know if you have any ideas or things you would like to see from me!
