Series I Want To Read in 2017

So I guess my posts recently fit better for the beginning of the year. I decided to list the series I want to read this year! I’m only going to mention series that are already finished completely because if not, the list would be never ending. I’m going to link to the first book of each series.

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

I own all three of these books but have only read Shadow and Bone. I wasn’t a huge fan when I originally read this book. I read it as soon as I finished ACOMAF and I think that had a huge impact on how I felt about it. I lost the motivation to read the series. But as time has gone on, I’ve realized that I had no reason to dislike it. And the more I thought of the actual story, the more I wanted to continue and see where it goes. I know that I liked the “bad guy/girl” no matter what anyone else says. I still have faith. I’m now excited to get to the rest of this series.

Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo

Of course, this duology has taken the bookish community by storm. Everyone loves this series and I can’t wait to figure out why. I own Crooked Kingdom but still have to purchase Six of Crows. Thankfully I want to finish the Grisha Trilogy first.

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

I know a lot of people love this series as a guilty pleasure read and I’m perfectly okay with that. I need some guilty pleasures to read. I think I’ll get to this over the summer. I plan on going out to my grandparents camp fairly often so I will enjoy the time in the sun reading a Bachelor-esque book series. I’m thinking about reading The Selection prior to summer just so I can get it started.

Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya

I have started reading this manga years ago but never ended up finishing it. I have also seen the entire anime fully through several times. I loved this anime so much. I can’t wait to actually be able to finish this manga.

Orange by Ichigo Takano

I read the first complete collection of this manga and I loved it. I definitely want to finish it. I have volume two but I haven’t read it yet. It’ll be a quick and easy read so I’m not too worried about it. I believe there’s only one more volume after this which puts it up to three.

Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino

I adored this anime. I’d seen it several times over. If you’ve seen it, you’d understand why I now understand how strange it is. But that’s alright. I still want to go through and read the entire manga so I can finally understand the whole story. I know there are two different “seasons” of the anime. I haven’t gotten around to watching the second one but I want to after I finish the manga.

I’m going to leave this here so I’m not being too ambitious. I’d like to also get around to reading the Vampire Academy series but I’m not going to count that toward this list. If I get to it, awesome. If not, that’s fine too. Have you read any of these series? Which was your favorite?

Happy Reading!
