Favorite Fandoms

This week’s Top 5 Wednesday is another that I wouldn’t have too many answers for so I decided to do one of the older ones. I enjoyed the idea of the top 5 fandoms. I am not really part of any fandoms anymore even though I still greatly enjoy a lot of these and I’m proud to be a part of them.

I may not be a part of them in the way that other people are but I do like buying merch for them or did. Let’s just get into this.

We’ll start with the fandom I was the most active in, back in the day. I used to be a huge roleplayer on MySpace. It’s something I don’t admit to very often because, well, it’s embarassing. When I think about it, it’s pretty much just a giant group of people writing fanfiction. I enjoyed the community and I actually got a friend of mine doing it.

I used to Roleplay in the world of Twilight. I would create my own characters and from them I would start stories with other people. Most of them would be romance stories or friendship stories but we never planned them out. One person would start and the next would continue and we would just go back and forth. I miss doing this and I can almost guarantee that I would continue to do this if it was still what it used to be.

The next one that I was huge in was the Doctor Who fandom. This one was more of me just buying the stuff. And, you know, having it be a semi-theme of my wedding. I’ll include a couple pictures below!

I absolutely adored Doctor Who. Well, the New Doctor Who up until Capaldi. I haven’t really watched too many of Capaldi’s episodes. I’ve tried multiple times and just haven’t been able to get into them. But that may have a lot to do with that fact that I’m not that into watching movies or tv shows anymore. I’d, obviously, rather read.

The next one that I would like to talk about is Supernatural. I was huge with Supernatural for a while. My husband even had all of the seasons when we got together. We have through 9, I believe. I haven’t seen any of this most recent season. As I’ve said before, I am not that into watching TV anymore. I think I may check out some Fanfiction. If you know of any good ones for any of these fandoms, let me know! Sorry for the poor picture. It’s the only one I have and I’m not at home to take another.

I’m newly a part of the Harry Potter fandom. I could really go for some Fanfiction for this. I am a proud Hufflepuff! I read the books for the first time this year and I loved them. I wish I would have read them when I was younger, though. I know that I would have enjoyed them so much more back then. I had tried many times and couldn’t get past the first page of the first book.

Now, this one was interesting. I was a huge Naruto fan when I was younger. No joke, my friend had one of the headbands and I wore it around my thigh at school. Now, what makes it interesting you may ask. I haven’t ever finished reading or watching it. I’ve barely seen any of it and haven’t read any of it. I’d like to but at this point, there’s just so many episodes that I don’t think it’d be worth it anymore. But I was a HUGE fan.

That’s about it! There are a few more that I’ve been “a part of,” like Fruits Basket, but those are the main ones. I’ve started writing FanFiction for, like, Criminal Minds and Fruits Basket but I’ve never finished either of them. I’d like to get back into them because I loved writing but I’d also rather focus just on reading right now.

I want to start setting time aside to just write uninterrupted but at the same time, it’s hard with working, school, reading, and, you know, raising a boy. But I’ll figure it all out. Any suggestions on how to make more time in the day, that would be awesome!

Sorry for the lack of pictures. I’m out to camp with the family and have a lot going on right now so I haven’t been able to take any before this goes up.

Happy Reading!

      1. As the writer, he focused way too much on Clara and her story. I felt like I was watching The Clara Show and not Doctor Who. All of Capaldi’s potential was thrown away so Moffat could obsess over Clara.

      2. That never occurred to me, but your absolutely right! Have you watched up until Clara’s last episode? He takes over from there (obviously). I haven’t watched much of the new season, but it seems pretty good. He almost seems to have an almost completely new personality without the regen.

      3. I didn’t even finish his first season. I’m so glad he’s getting the screen time that he deserves. But I feel bad that this is his last season. It’s so frustrating that a lot of his time was wasted on Clara.

      4. Honestly, wherever you left off. The more I think of it, the more I see how right you are about it being Clara-centric. And even though that’s true, there are some awesome moments that I don’t think you should miss. Season 8 finale tore me apart. And The Boneless gives us a glimpse of a female Doctor.

      5. They still have to do the evil Doctor also. I’m interested in how they are gonna go about that. I want to start from Capaldi’s first episode (which I actually saw in theaters 😂) but I need to figure out where I can watch it. Netflix and Hulu lost their rights to it.
