So, I’m going to warn all of you, this is a very ambitious TBR. I want to finish reading a few series so that I can read standalones while collecting other series. So a lot of these are series I’ve started and want to finish.
First, let’s start out with the book club books.
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
This is the book that was chosen for the Random Books Monthly Book Club that was created by Dylan (YouTube and Social Media linked at the bottom of this post) and Jay (linked below).
I’m looking forward to this book, but I’m not too sure what it’s about. I just know that it’s a diverse read and I need those in my life. I’m horrible at reading diverse books. I currently don’t own this book but I plan on buying it very very soon (by the time this goes up, I may have it already).
A List of Cages by Robin Roe
I’ve been excited about this book since I first heard about it. I’m so glad it’s this month’s book and I’m so excited to get to it. I know it’s about foster brothers that end up meeting later in life. That and it’s a beautiful story about friendship and tough subject matter. I’m very excited to read this book. I don’t own it yet but I will be getting it right along with Queens of Geek.
Frostbite by Richelle Mead
I included a picture of all of the books even though I’m only reading Frostbite this month. I kind of hate the fact I got this as a box set and the first book doesn’t match. The photo is linked to just Frostbite
Anyway, this is for a Vampire Academy Readathon for a group that was created by Caroline (linked below) and Maddie (linked below). I’ve read the first book but never ended up continuing on with the series. This readathon will be my chance to do so!
Now, let’s move onto the book I pulled from my TBR Jar!
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
I got this book in one of my first hauls and I still haven’t even thought about picking it up. I need to but it just doesn’t appeal to me. But that’s exactly why I have this TBR Jar. I’m going to go into this hoping for the best! If anyone wants to buddy read this with me, contact me on Twitter or Instagram. If you want to buddy read any of these books, let me know.
And next will be the ARCs I have to read this month.
Same Love by Tony Correia
*I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review*
Now, when looking at the GoodReads page, I have lost some hope for this book. I am going to read it still. It came out in April of this year and it only got a 2.5. Out of the reviews that I’ve skimmed the star ratings of, no one gave this over 3 stars. I will be reading it from the perspective of someone who isn’t a gay man, but we’ll see how I feel.
I went into this book witho2
31ut too much hope to begin with. This is a book about a gay boy who gets sent to a camp to “make him better,” so to speak. His parents think that it’s wrong that he’s gay and send him there in hope that it will “fix him.” We’ll see how I feel about it.
Trigger Warnings I know about: Homophobia (well, homo-hatred), horrible parents (can this be a trigger warning)
Love is Love by Mette Bach
*I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review*
I am very excited for this book. I’ve never read a book about a transgender person, let alone one with someone who is transgender as the love interest. I have decent hopes for this book. Just like the previous book, I’m going to be reviewing this as someone who is not transgender.
And the rest of these are optional books to read!
I have read Cinder and I loved it. I need to continue on with the series and finish it. I don’t own Winter but I am going to need to get it at some point. The photo is linked to the box set that includes Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, and Fairest.
I’m buddy reading Fairest with Donald from Donald Loves Literature on YouTube. I have to get through Scarlet and Cress first though!
Siege and Storm
Ruin and Rising
By Leigh Bardugo
I NEED to get through this series. I must. I need to get to Six of Crows! This photo is linked to the boxed set that I got with these three in it. Also came with a map, I believe.
I’m buddy reading Siege and Storm with Melissa from TheWrittenAdventure on Instragram.
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
I’m doing a buddy read of this book with Taylor (linked below) and I am super excited for it! I’ve read a couple chapters of this and liked it. I can’t wait to get more of this story.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
I’m buddy reading this book with April from BookCrookReviews and AprilsBookNook on Instagram. I’m very excited to get into this book. I’ve heard so many mixed things about it and I’m excited to form my own thoughts while buddy reading this!
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
This book was in my first ever book haul and I STILL HAVEN’T READ IT! I am 68 pages into this and it just wasn’t catching my interest. So I’m going to give it another try if I have time this month.
I had 4 more books on here but I don’t think I’ll end up getting to them so I’m taking them off my TBR this month. Unless I’m feeling up to reading them outside of these books. They were all either standalones or series I haven’t started. So, I’m not too heartbroken about not reading them this month.
