So, I was going to go off on a tangent but I got partway through typing it and realized that I could make a single post about that. So I’ll just continue to think about what I was going to talk about and deal with it myself.
Anyway, let’s get into this.
This post is going to focus on the top 10 books on my shelves that I want to read. Aka: my most anticipated books I own.
Next month is when Read-a-thin starts (I’ll link my announcement and TBR posts down below for you) so I wanted to talk about the books I own and am excited for. Even though I don’t think I’m reading any of these next month. Oops.
This is going to be in mostly order up to my most excited. This is a tentative list, though.
10. Chris Crutcher
I own 3 Chris Crutcher books: Angry Management, Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, and Chinese Handcuffs.
I read Whale Talk back in high school for my English class but I don’t remember much besides the fact I enjoyed it and wanted to read more Chris Crutcher. I own a few books and haven’t read any of them. I do want to get to them soon, though.
9. Morgan Matson
Another author that I really want to read more from after reading one book but haven’t. I own The Unexpected Everything, Second Chance Summer, Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, and Since You’ve Been Gone.
I got Since You’ve Been Gone around October of 2016, read it, and loved it. So I ended up getting more Morgan Matson. Well, I haven’t picked up anymore. I plan on reading all of them this month, though!
8. Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson
I’ve had this book for a while now, but I haven’t gotten around to actually reading it. I want to collect the whole series before I start reading it, though.
7. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
I read Fangirl last month or the month before and I adored it. I wanted to pick up Eleanor and Park right after but had a bunch of other stuff to read. But I would like to get to it sometime soon.
6. Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer
I am about halfway through this book and I NEED to finish it. I absolutely loved what I read so far of it. It’s such an important topic to me but it’s very hard hitting. I could only read so much of it at once. I think at this point in my life, I’ll be able to finish it.
5. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
This series. It’s been on every TBR so far this summer and I just haven’t gotten to it. I started reading the first one and just put it down. I need to get back into it.
4. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
I got this book in an Owlcrate a few months ago and I just haven’t gotten around to picking it up. I really want to but I just haven’t had the motivation.
3. Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
I’ve heard such wonderful things about this book and I can’t wait to get to it next month. I feel like it’s going to be one of the first I read.
2. Lizzy Charles
I ended up getting It Had To Be You as an eARC from the publisher and NetGalley. I read it in one night. I rave about this book every chance I can. I adored it. I’ll link my review below. I ended up buying the rest of her books: Effortless With You, Perfectly Messy, and Bring The Rain. I’ve been meaning to pick these up since I got them but I haven’t gotten around to it. Hopefully in August!
1. The Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy last month (well, finished it then) along with Melissa from The Written Adventure. I’ll link her series review below! I enjoyed the series overall but that was mainly because I liked the last book a lot. The last book got me even more excited to read Six of Crows. I’m going to end up buddy reading this with Melissa again!
