My Reading Goals (Sept 2017-Dec 2017)

So, I started out the year with some reading goals. They were just too over ambitious and I knew that going into it. But I decided to give up on those and created new ones that I think I can manage!

The first goal that I have for myself is that I would like to use my TBR Jar more often.

I have a jar that has all of the books I own and I have on my Kindle. I have had a habit of choosing the book and not reading it. So I want to get better about actually using that.

The next goal I have is that I want to read Game of Thrones. Just the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin.

I’m currently 10% through and I have until the end of the year so I don’t see how I wouldn’t be able to.

I also would like to read an Agatha Christie book a month. I have read two of them and I would like to read more. So I’m going to set myself up to read at least one a month. I’m also going to try to read it in order.

Another series that I want to read is the Sookie Stackhouse series. Or the Southern Vampires or whatever books the True Blood show was based on.

I started reading these a while back and just never ended up finishing it. So I want to restart it and get around to actually finishing it. So a book a month is how I’m going to go about that also. I won’t have it done by the end of the year though.

I need to read a single Shakespeare play. I have a Shakespeare collection and I just want to start reading them. I think I’ll end up reading Romeo and Juliet since I’ve already read that once and it’ll be easy to get back into it.

Along those same lines, I would like to read one poetry collection. So recommend some of your favorites down below!

But then there’s my book buying ban. I’m currently on a book buying ban and I would like to make it last to the end of the year. We’ll see, though.

And the last goal that I have for myself is that I would like to read my ARCs two months ahead. I currently get books through NetGalley and I plan on continuing to do so. But I would like to try to stay 2 months ahead. Obviously, that won’t count for books I got after the two month mark but if I have it two months ahead, I’ll read them!

So that’s about it. This was just a quick little check in and you can go watch my video talking about my reading goals, here.

Happy Reading!

    1. I feel like I will like it more spread out. It’s so dense and descriptive and “boring” that I think it’ll be better to spread it out. So I’m going to continue this way. It’ll take me forever to finish the series but maybe by the time I catch up, he’ll have finally released the last book 😂

      1. I actually realized I’m not nearly as bad as some people. I thought I was pushing it with 10 books unread. I know people who have like 50!
