Hey everyone! Welcome back and if you’re new, I’m Amanda from A Court of Books and Love!
Today, I’m going to be updating you guys on how my month has been going!
I have finished 4 books so far this month! I’m not going to get into how I feel about them, but I will when I do my monthly wrap up at the end of the month.
The first book that I finished this month was Unexpected by Jenny Frame. I got this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review. Check out my video review here.
This book is a female/female romance about a woman who loves girls and fast cars being thrust into the life of a woman who is trying to hide from her past by their shared child.
The next two books that I finished, I listened to on audio. The first one was While The Savage Sleeps by Andrew E Kaufman.
This book is about a bunch of murders happening in the small, normally quiet, town of Faith. We follow the only person who thinks that these murders are connected who is also the sheriff of this town. It’s an adult psychological thriller and narrated by Luke Daniels, who I adore as an audiobook narrator.
The third book that I finished in the month of September was Darkness and Shadows by Andrew E Kaufman.
I’m not going to get too in depth with this book because it is the second book following Patrick Bannister, a reporter suffering from OCD. This book takes place a few years after the end of the first book. We get another look into Patrick’s past and see him develop more.
And lastly, I finished reading I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson. I buddy read this book with Jessica from JessicaMarie493.
This book is about a set of twins, Noah and Jude, and their journey after their mother passes away. It’s a story of family, love, and art. This book is told in both of the twins’ perspective, Noah’s when they are almost 14 and Jude’s when they are 16. The story is told in a very whimsical way that is sometimes hard to understand. It’s a bit rough to get into but it’s still a meaningful story.
Now onto the books I’m currently reading.
I’m currently rereading Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. This is a buddy read with Taylor from BookishTaylor.
This book is about Audrey Rose as she challenges the norms set on woman while living during the Victorian age in London by training to be a coroner and trying to solve the string of murders that Jack the Ripper is doing.
I hope you guys enjoyed! Let me know what you’re currently reading!
Happy Reading! Bye!
