Hey everyone! Welcome back and if you’re new, I’m Amanda from A Court of Books and Love.
Today I have all of my plans for October.
But before we get into that. Let’s have a little talk.
I apologize once again that I haven’t been nearly as active as I used to be. If you don’t know, I’m back to college again. I’m only taking one course, but that course is only 8 weeks compared to the normal, what, 13-14 weeks? So everything is more intense. But that’s okay. It’s working better for me. I just don’t have the time I want to work on blogging and making videos.
So for October, I’m going to focus mainly on here. I will try to make some videos. I want to try to prefilm everything and edit as I go but we’ll see. Either way, I’m going to try to get as much done for October as I can ahead of time. So some of the posts won’t be the most updated when they actually go up. But that’s perfectly okay. It’s going to be what works for me.
So let’s explain the title. If you’re following me, you should know what TBR means. It’s To Be Read, so the books that I want to read this month. I’m going to be talking about the books I plan on reading, not counting my TBR for some readathons.
I plan on participating in 4 readathons this month. If you click on the titles below of the readathons you can get more information about them:
I’ll post my TBRs for #GetGraphic later on this week and Spookathon and Sbooktober later in the month, closer to the start date. I’ll explain how each of these books fit into Spooky Shelfie when I talk about them!
Itby Stephen King
I will be starting this book tonight and I’ll be listening to it on audio until I finish reading the next three books I have on my TBR then I’ll be reading this physically also.
If you don’t know, this book is about a clown that is taking children. It’s a horror book. It’s terrifying. I’m going to probably pee my pants at work while I’m listening. And I’m all for it. Let’s do this.
Spooky Shelfie Challenge: Read a book about something you’re afraid of
Diamondby JA Low
*I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review*
I read this first book in this series (also received from NetGalley) and fell in immediate love with it. I talk praise about Sapphire to no end. You can read my full review here. There are a ton of trigger warnings for both of these books so be careful and check out my review to know what to watch out for.
This book is the continuation of that book and to prevent spoilers, I’m not going to include a synopsis. Just go check out the first book if you’re not triggered by anything mentioned in my review.
Spooky Shelfie Challenge: Read a book with a freakish character (all the bad guys in here. They are freaks to me)
The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts and The Girl Who Saved Ghosts by KC Tansley
*I received both of these books from NetGalley and the Publisher for my honest review*
I will have my review for these two books out on Oct 14th so keep an eye out for that.
This book is about a girl who has spent her entire life ignoring the fact that she can see and hear ghosts. A school project leads her to an island with her research partner, Evan. Before the two of them know it, they are sent back in time to solve the mystery they were researching. And trying to get back to their own time.
I’m so very interested in these two books and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you guys.
Spooky Shelfie Challenge: Read a book with a supernatural/paranormal aspect
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
I read Stalking Jack the Ripper last year and loved every second of it. I can’t wait to get into this one. I won’t give much of a synopsis because it’s the second book and I don’t want to spoil anything.
Spooky Shelfie Challenge: Read a book with a serial killer
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
I’ve had this book for so long, but I haven’t gotten around to reading it. This WILL be the month! I need to get it done this month! It’s the perfect time to read this type of book.
This book takes place in a world where there is not sickness or death. So to keep things from getting out of control, there are people called scythes who are sent to kill people. We follow our main character who is a scythe.
Not counting the books that I’ve planned to read for the other readathons I’m doing, that’s it for reading. Let me know what books you plan on reading this month!
As of right now, I don’t know the reading challenges for Sbooktober so I haven’t made a TBR yet. So some of these books may be repeated.
TBS is something new that I’ve started so I decided to add it into here. It will include any movies, tv shows, Korean dramas, or anime that I would like to watch. So it’s pretty simple. It stands for To Be Seen. Let’s get into it!
I’m only going to mention shows that I’m either behind on and need to catch up on or shows that are done that I want to watch.
I’m currently on season 2 episode 14. There are 18 episodes in season 2 and season 3 will start sometime in October. I would like to catch up before the next season starts.
This is a Korean drama. I’m on episode 7 of 16. I’m not super attached to this one but I’m still enjoying it and want to finish it.
Those are the only two I have planned right now. I want to do the try an episode tag for the anime and Kdramas I mention in their respective “ten I want to watch” posts. So that will decide which I continue on with after that.
The only challenges I’m doing is one Instagram challenge. I will post a picture of my screenshot down below so you can check it out also!
I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what you’re reading/watching down below!
Happy Reading/Watching! Bye!
