Bookworm Mondays: March Book Haul

I ended up making a Book Outlet order while they had the sale going on for 15% off in addition to free shipping. I ended up getting about 15 books from there. Almost all were to go toward my reading challenges. But, let’s just get into it!

I apologize that this post won’t be linked at all. I got busy last week between work and reading. I didn’t get to do this post ahead of time. I will be working on Wednesdays today or tomorrow. Again, I apologize.

But, before I get into that, I want to mention the book I got in the March OwlCrate. We ended up getting Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. I hadn’t heard of this book before getting it but since then, I’ve learned a bit more about it. I like to go into books mostly blind so I’m not spoiling anything so I won’t give too many summaries about what these books are about.

In the Book Outlet order, I ended up accidentally ordering The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Adhieh. Which wouldn’t have been a mistake, but I already owned it! I get it confused with An Ember in the Ashes for some reason and I meant to get that but nope! I’m going to probably end up giving it to a friend.

I also got Push Girl by Chelsie Hill and Jessica Love. I ended up getting this book for Diversity Bingo. It is, obviously, about a girl in a wheelchair.

I saw Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys on Book Outlet and I just had to have it. I’ve heard such wonderful things about this book that I wanted to read it no matter what.

Of course, because of the movie, I had to get Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I have been wanting to read this book but I just never felt the want to buy it just yet until the movie trailer came out. It just made me even more excited to read it.

I ended up buying In Order To Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park. I’ve heard great things about this woman and how strong she is. I can’t wait to get into this book.

I ended up buying Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. As soon as I saw this on Book Outlet, I knew I just had to get it. I needed to read this book. I’m very excited to finally have and finally be able to break into it. I may read it on a weekend just so I can go through it quickly without having to put it down.

I was kind of iffy about getting Every Day by David Levithan. I want to read it but at the same time, I’m unsure how I’ll feel about it. So, I just decided to pick it up and I’ll see how it goes.

I have been wanting to read To All The Boys I’ve Loved by Jenny Han. I’m really excited for this book. I think that it’ll be a quick and easy read.

I was kind of iffy about getting Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour just because I feel like I’ve been hearing mixed things about this book. I feel like a lot of people gave it three or four stars. But I think it’ll be a quick and easy read.

I’m super excited to read Blindsided by Priscilla Cummings. I have been wanting to read a book with a blind main character. I think it would be an interesting perspective. If I remember correctly, the MC in this book doesn’t start off blind but it’ll still be interesting to me.

So, these next two books are a part of a series. But, they are the fourth and fifth of that series. I found Empire of Storms and Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas. I don’t plan on starting this book for a little while so I have time to get the rest but I knew that I wanted to read this series so I figured I might as well get it.

I also got Scarlet, Cress, and Fairest by Marissa Meyer to finish off what I plan on reading of the Lunar Chronicles. I read Cinder and loved it so I’m really excited to finish off this series.

That’s it! That’s the end, finally. This was a quick and easy post of mine but it had to be done! I love book hauls but I haven’t done one in a while. So, here is a decent one!

I hope you enjoyed! What books did you buy this month? Which should I read first?

Happy reading!

October Book Haul (My husband is a butthole)

Alright, so I had to add that little tad bit into the title because I told my husband I would. I was about to start typing this up and he decided to not only bring our 9 week old puppy into the room but also our 15 month old son who just realized he can crawl off the bed and play on the floor! So, this is going to be interesting.

For starters! I bought Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. This is part of the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. I’m currently trying my hardest to finish this book. I’m going to finish it up after I finish this and before I take my nap. This book follows a boy named Jacob Portman. Due to a tragedy in the family, Jacob goes to an island only to find that the people who used to live in the old abandoned house there were more than they seemed. And he just may end up with more on his plate than he expected.

The second book that I am going to talk about is Incarnate by Jodi Meadows. This is the first book in the Newsoul series. This is a story about a girl named Ana who suddenly appeared in a world that reincarnated a million of the same souls over the years. But her showing up means that someone else was lost. What else could Ana’s coming mean?

The next book is The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. This book is the first in the Mara Dyer series. Obviously, this story follows a girl named Mara Dyer. She has lost her memory and her “friends.” There is one boy who seems to know more about her life than she does. And to add to everything, she starts seeing things that couldn’t possibly be there.

The next book is My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga. This book is about a girl, Aysel, who is ready to give up everything, including her life. She finds a website that has a section specifically for partnered suicide. She finds a boy who she chooses as her partner. As they continue to talk more and their partnered suicide comes closer, Aysel begins to have second thoughts. But she must choose whether to go through with it or convince her partner that it’s a bad idea.

The second to last book is Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. Libby Day put her brother in jail for murdering her mother and sister. Now there is a group of people that are trying to prove him innocent. She helps with this investigation, which reveals some truths and puts her back on the run from a killer.

And last book in this haul is Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. In this book, Emily is a shy girl and her best friend, Sloane, is more outgoing. One summer, Sloane disappears, leaving behind a bucket list for Emily to follow and break her out of her shell. Emily tries to follow the bucket list in order to hopefully get Sloane back.

I’m looking forward to reading all of these books! Only a few are on my TBR for Octboer but I’ll have the others on November’s! Now I’m going to go finish Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children! Let me know what you all thought of each of these books if you read them or if you want to read them!
